Settings & Report

Settings

Open Settings from the ☰ menu. Everything here persists across restarts.

Appearance

Theme — System, Light, Dark (the default), or MidtoneLab. The theme sets the app’s chrome, accent and surface colours.

Fancy Look — replaces the plain interface with brushed-metal textures, bitmap film frames around the preview, and an analog meter dial in place of the numeric EV readout. It changes nothing about the measurements.

Metering mode

Fast (Video) or RAW (Single Shot) — see Live Mode for what each one captures. RAW falls back to video on devices that do not support it.

Reference meters and calibration

Add, select and delete reference meters, turn Use Calibration on or off, inspect a meter’s stored data points, export them as JSON, or clear them. See Calibration.

Report

In offline mode the app can render a composite report image and save it to your photo library — one picture holding the whole measurement, for a notebook, a darkroom wall or an email.

The report contains, in order:

  1. Header — app name, the photo’s date, the report date, and the current exposure settings (ISO, EV, f/, SS, +/−EV, Color, ND).
  2. Spot meters — the snapshot with every reticle, built-in and custom, and its EV label.
  3. Heatmap — the snapshot with the heatmap overlay.
  4. Histogram — the luminance chart on its own, with the S / M / H zone markers.
  5. Metadata — the EV for each spot, listed: Highlight, Midtone, Shadow, and every custom spot.

It renders at 2× resolution. An alert confirms the save, or tells you if it failed — most often because photo library access has not been granted.
